A Little Bit About Our Project

Here is a brief outline of what we are doing:
-We have passed out over 300 flyers to our neighborhoods and got permission to pass them out to customers at Dan's and we left some at Alphagraphics and Blockbuster for people to take
-We sold 144 aluminum water bottles in our school to encourage students to switch to reusable water bottles
-We taught three sixth grade classes at Crestview Elementary School for forty five minutes to inform elementary kids and their parents

The reason why we are doing this project it because we are competing in the lexus eco challenge and we are concerned about the number of plastic water bottles that are in our landfill. We are asking everyone to start using reusable water bottles and to recycle their old plastic water bottles.

Presentation Day

Today we gave our presentation to the sixth grade students of Crestview Elementary School. We talked for about forty-five minutes to three of their classes. It was fun and we hope that the kids learned a lot.

Working on our Action Plan

Today we worked on our action plan. It took us 2 1/2 hours to finish the first part of it. After we finish selling the water bottles, we are going to complete the action plan.

Poster Day

Today we made posters to hang in the halls and present at our presentation to the kids at Crestview Elementary School. These posters took us 4 hours to draw, design and color. We also worked on our presentation script.

Passing Out Flyers

Today we passed out over 300 flyers to our neighbors. We also got permission to pass them out to customers at Dan's. Blockbuster and Alphagraphics let us leave some copies of our flyers at their counters for customers to take.

Designing Our Flyers

Today we designed the logo of our flyers and water bottles. This took us about an hour to design and print off our flyer. Then we went to Kinko's and made about 300 copies of our flyers to hand out to people.

Planning Day

Today we had a planning meeting that lasted for about 3 hours. We decided on our project topic and made a list of things that we needed to accomplish in the next few weeks. We also contacted an employee of the online company that we were buying the online water bottles from and got a quote.
